The Challenge
Our client relied on an archaic system involving manual data entry, multiple spreadsheets, and fragmented communication channels to manage complex global shipments. This resulted in frequent errors, bottlenecks, and a lack of real-time visibility, leading to delayed deliveries and significant operational costs.
The primary goal was to create a unified, cloud-based platform capable of handling high transaction volumes while providing end-to-end tracking for all stakeholders, including vendors, warehouse staff, and end customers.
Our Solution
We designed and built a custom **Business Process System (BPS)** from the ground up using a Python/Node.js backend for high concurrency, integrated with AWS cloud services for scalability. Key features included:
- **Real-Time Data Pipelines:** Consolidated disparate data sources into a single, centralized database (PostgreSQL and Firestore).
- **Automated Workflow Engine:** Digitized manual steps like approvals, manifest generation, and status updates, triggered by system events.
